Light + Green
Anyone travelling from the airport or the north of Düsseldorf towards the city centre will inevitably cross the Kennedydamm. The approach road is lined with modern office and commercial buildings – one of the newast being One Plaza.
The building was constructed according to green building criteria and, instead of a topping-out ceremony, a tree planting festival was held in the building’s inner courtyard. +grün calls the concept for greening the outdoor areas, the inner courtyard and the roof terrace « Forest Home ». In addition to the ecological aspects, the quality of the outdoor spaces also plays a role.
Light lines with aluminium profiles were integrated into the planters combined with benches. These bathe terrace areas in warm light after dark. The courtyard, which is used as a meeting place, is also accentuated with light lines.
